The Turkish Navy lacks some of the modern fighting solutions common to navies of the West, mainly aircraft / helicopter carriers though, on the whole, it has made itself a well-balanced fighting force. The service mixes a healthy number of undersea elements alongside modern, powerful surface combatants. Amphibious Assaults are given attention as well as is the mine / countermine force. All told, over 135 vessels are present to cover the base roles required of any modern naval power.
